Illumination work plays an important role in the growth and production of chickens. In the past, when the flat-breeding method was used, the flocks could get natural light, but now most farmers’ methods of raising chickens have been upgraded to cages. The cage house is generally required to be enclosed, so this requires the use of chicken farm equipment – lighting equipment to complete the lighting work of the house. However, there are some things to be aware of when artificially supplementing light, and it cannot be done blindly. The author will talk about the use of poultry cage system in Uganda for artificial light filling.
1. Be sure to develop a comprehensive lighting plan, different laying hens and broilers, as well as different growth stages, the required light intensity and lighting time are not the same. Therefore, farmers should establish reasonable light intensity and time of illumination according to requirements and standards, and implement them in practice, and must not be abandoned halfway.
2. Farmers should pay attention to the breeding of chickens. During the breeding period, the daily light time should be kept constant or gradually reduced. It is not allowed to increase at will, but the daily light time should not be less than 6 hours.
3. Users of laying hens should pay attention to the fact that during the laying period of laying hens, the daily light time should be kept constant or gradually increased, and can not be reduced arbitrarily, but the daily light time should not exceed 17 hours.
4. During laying of laying hens, farmers must pay attention to the increase of light time should be gradual, can not suddenly increase a lot, otherwise it will easily lead to the occurrence of chicken rectalation and other diseases.
5. Do not arbitrarily change the color of light and the time of illumination, otherwise it will cause production to stop. Generally, red or white light is used, and the result is improved in both egg production and egg quality, and can prevent or reduce the occurrence of cockroaches such as cockroaches, ankles, and cockroaches. At the same time, it can also receive good results in terms of chicken growth and feed consumption.
6. The light intensity should be uniform. And the light should gradually become clear or dark, otherwise it will cause shock reaction. If the farmer suddenly turns off the light or shortens the illumination time too fast, it will cause moulting, malformed eggs, and even the loss of laying hens.
7. In order to achieve the best effect of light, farmers should pay attention to strengthen the usual feeding management. In addition, the disease prevention and control work of laying hens and broilers should be done well, and healthy laying hens and broilers can enjoy the advantages brought by light.
The above is the precautions for the artificial light supplementation shared by the farmers using the light equipment. In addition, when the artificial light is added, the intensity of the light is different during the growth stage of the chicken group, and the reasonable light intensity can ensure the chicken. The group accepts the rationality of the light. Especially for laying hens, fill light is the most important.
