Precautions for adding preparations to chickens in battery cage system

The proportion of vitamins and mineral trace elements in the feed is quite small in poultry farming equipment in South Africa. But they are essential nutrients for chicken growth and development. There are some issues to be aware of when using them:

  1. Professional households raising chickens with battery cage for layer should purchase the prepared finished product. There are as many trace elements as chicken growth needs, and there are also 7 kinds of supplementary ingredients. There are also 14 kinds of vitamins that need to be added to the feed.

It is not cost-effective for professional households to spend a lot of time to purchase so many raw materials for preparation. Moreover, these raw materials are added in a small proportion in the feed. Trace elements generally only account for 0.01%, and vitamins are even less.

Professional households need to perform very accurate weighing before mixing. If the amount of trace elements and vitamins is inaccurate due to weighing and mixing, it will not have the proper nutritional effect. So chicken farmers try to buy finished preparations.

  1. The usage amount should be strictly controlled. Multidimensional preparations are generally more expensive, and should be added according to the product instructions. Chickens can be appropriately increased to 1 times the normal dosage when they are sick and have some stress symptoms in case of severe heat and cold.

Storage Method

Battery cage system chickens should pay special attention to the packaging and storage of multi-dimensional preparations and trace element preparations. Trace element premixes should be packaged in 100g tin foil bags and thickened plastic bags as much as possible. Multidimensional preparations are mostly packed in 5kg opaque plastic buckets lined with plastic bags to prevent oxidation and mildew.

Multi-dimensional preparations must pay attention to the production date, and multi-dimensional preparations stored for more than 3 months will have a reduced effect. In summer, multivitamins should be stored in the freezer as much as possible. The storage and use period of trace element preparations should not exceed 6 months.
