Chick care considerations in chicken house

The chicks are small, weak in disease resistance, and slightly negligent in management, which is likely to cause a large number of deaths. Therefore, strengthening management and careful feeding can ensure that chicks have a high survival rate and fast growth in poultry farming equipment.

1. Strict disinfection. Prepare the brooding room. The drinking fountains in the feeding trough should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water. The brooding room should be cleaned with clean water. Then, after disinfecting, close the doors and windows for 12 to 24 hours, then open the doors and windows to ventilate the air. Preheat the room temperature to above 30 °C. Enter the room.

2. Choose healthy chicks. Generally lively and active, the legs are strong, the movements are free of healthy chicks, the young feathers are dirty, the spirit is weak, the eyes are closed and the standing is unstable. Be sure to pick good when buying chicks.

3. Drink water in time. After the chicks are out of the shell, they can lose 8% of water in 24 hours, and 15% of water in 48 hours. When the water loss is greater than 15%, dehydration symptoms will soon appear. Therefore, chicks should be supplied with adequate and clean drinking water in 12 hours after shelling. In the first few days, drink 0.01% potassium permanganate water to disinfect the drinking water and clean the gastrointestinal tract to promote meconium discharge.

4. Carefully fed. The feed should have good palatability, easy digestion, fresh and high quality, and moderate particle size. The chicks start eating within 12 to 24 hours after shelling.

5. Adjust the temperature and humidity. Suitable temperatures for chicks are: 30°C to 32°C at 1 week of age, 28°C to 30°C at 2 weeks of age, 25°C to 28°C at 3 weeks of age, and 22°C to 25°C at 4 weeks of age, after each week Lower 1.5 ° C to 2 ° C until room temperature. The humidity is maintained at 60% to 65% within 1 week of age, and preferably 50% to 60% after 1 week.

6. The density is reasonable. The density should be adjusted according to the age of the chick, the breeding method of the breed and the structure of the house.

7, scientific lighting. Reasonable lighting times are: 24 hours from 0 to 3 days, 16 to 19 hours from 4 to 14 days of age, and natural light after 15 days of age. The light intensity is suspended at a height of 2 meters with a 40W bulb in the first week of the 15m2 house, and the 25W bulb is used in the second week.

8, the air is fresh. Strengthen the ventilation of the brooding room and keep the air inside the house fresh. Ventilation in the house can open the window when there is enough sunshine in the afternoon. The opening degree of the door and window is from a small to a large and finally half-opened. Do not suddenly open the door and window, let the cold wind blow straight, and the room temperature suddenly drops.
