How to improve disease resistance of broilers in summer?

In summer, the climate is hot, chickens do not have a perspiration system, and the heat in the body cannot be dissipated by themselves. In addition, living in chicken battery cages, the breeding density is high, and the ventilation requirements are relatively high, so the disease resistance is naturally weak. It is easy to cause illness. So, how to raise chickens in summer to improve the disease resistance of chickens? It is recommended to start from the following aspects:

Stocking density

The stocking density is closely related to the disease resistance of chickens. The stocking density should not be too high. If the density is too high, the air in the chicken house will be dirty, the ammonia content will be too high, the humidity will be too high, and the environment will be dirty. The density should not be too small. Although it is conducive to the growth of chickens, various chicken raising equipment cannot be fully utilized, resulting in increased breeding costs. Therefore, from the first week of age, the chicks should be controlled at 30 per square, and then reduced by 5 per week until 10 per square.

Water management

The water content in the chicken body is very large, reaching about 65%, and it exists in almost every cell in the chicken body. Therefore, we must pay attention to water management to ensure that there is enough water in the chicken house, and the height of the drinking fountain is kept on the back of the chicken. Then pay attention to the water quality and change the water regularly. To prevent the litter from getting wet, place bricks under the drinker to keep the house dry.

Chicken house management

The chicken house should be ventilated to facilitate the exhaust of harmful gases in the chicken house, and then prepare the cooling equipment for the chicken house. For example: fan, wet curtain, wind window, etc. Prevent the temperature in the chicken house from being too high, causing heatstroke in the chicken.

Light control

Appropriate light can ensure the normal activities of chickens, enhance disease resistance, and increase the feed intake of chickens. If the light is insufficient, it will affect the growth and development of the chicken. Therefore, the lighting time must be controlled according to the lighting requirements of the chicken body, and it should not be too short. But it should not be too strong, otherwise it will affect the rest of the chicken, make the chicken excessively fatigued, and reduce the chicken’s growth rate and disease resistance.

This post discusses how to improve disease resistance of broilers in summer. Hope can help the chicken farmer to make chicken less disease.
